Our PC was damaged by a power surge from a lightning strike. The PC was toast. I installed the hard drive in another PC and it would not respond. I sent the Hard Drive to WERECOVERDATA and they were able to recover 100% of the data, copy it to a reasonably priced portable hard drive and ship back to me in about a week. We recovered some very special photos that had not been backed up at a fair price.

I was on my computer when suddenly the screen went blank. I restarted the computer and typed in my password. I thought "Oh Good Windows 7 is starting" and a relief came over me. Then before I could open a file the screen went blank. My heart sank. I have a back up, but It was months since I last saved to it. I consulted my computer guy who had me restart in Safe Mode, and go to a command prompt. I typed the “chkdsk” and the screen began to scroll filenames until it just got “stuck”. His Assumption was that a Win file was corrupted. I brought it to him & he installed a new Drive into my tower and made the faulty drive a slave. The new drive booted up (with Win 10) and we were immediately able to see the corrupted drive. There was 1.8TB on the drive. I couldn’t quite remember my User name, so we just bypassed and clicked on it to see what was there. Thinking it was taking long due to the drive size we let it run. After opening it 99% - it just stopped. He tried to open the faulty drive this time booting off a Win 7 Boot disk to no avail. He told me about a service “We RecoverData.com” that he used while he was a County LAN administrator. I went online and filled out their Form which merely requests some basic info about your situation (which files are important etc...) and was issued a case #. He took my drive to them & I immediately got an email that they had my drive and offered their terms and info about their services. They stated they most likely could get my data back & put it on a new drive of my choosing. Indeed I heard back from them. They gave me a list of all the files they found and offered to put it on a new external drive (they sold to me at a very reasonable price). What a lifesaver!!! Do not hesitate to try them!

Firstly, the address is incorrect. if you go to this address you end up on an empty floor of the financial building. everywhere says they are. They're at 801 brickell ace suite 900. There was just two girls sitting there with nothing that says the business name or referencing tech so I got nervous. The girl had a hard time getting into their portal which made me nervous because it seemed like she didn't even know the password and hadn't logged in for a while whch seemed sketchy tbh, but was able to print me a receipt. You have to do an online consent before btw. I have in my tablet but she didn't put a sticker or any identifying label on it which I didn't think about until later so hopefully it doesn't get lost or anything like that. They mail out your tech to a lab in Aventura. My issue going in is I didn't know the pics on my iPad where connected to the pics on my laptop and to save space I deleted them all and deleted EVERYTHING. it's $95 deposit and then they call you with the full charge (between 200-5,000) depending on the severity. Initially told me my case would be simple and not too much money. Got a call two days later saying the cost would be 1600 for my pictures and would take 7-10 days. WHAT?! After I said I'm sorry but I can't I was told he could offer me a slower service that would cost less. It would be 12500 and take 2-4 weeks. W H A T. I'm no tech wizard but I'm pretty sure downloading pictures doesn't take 2-4 weeks? Nor is worth 1200+ dollars. I feel duped. They wouldn't let me pick up my iPad but mailed it (I really didn't want my iPad mailed anymore but I really wanted it back). Took about a week to turn it in, get the quote, get it back. I assume if I had said yes it would have taken about 2 weeks total which is a waste of time tbh. The good thing is I do feel my iPad was well protected being mailed even if I didn't want it mailed. Plus it did end up having a sticker with numbers on it. Not sure when then put it on though. And you have to sign to receive your tech which can be annoying if you live alone but ensures the safety of the tech especially in a rainy Miami summer
