After many years of wanting to have old photos restored for my family, I finally decided to go ahead and do it. My cousin's wife recommended Unisignco (formerly Bay Area Imaging), as she had once used them for photo restoration herself and was very happy with the results. It was very easy to get in touch with them, and they provided all the info I could have asked for. I stupidly waited too long to get them the originals, and I told them that I was really hoping to give these out as Christmas gifts but that I understood it might not be possible within the time frame. The original photos were badly scratched and faded, so my hopes weren't high. Not only did they get the job done early so I could have them for gifts, but they did a fantastic job on the photos themselves. The scratches and damage are completely gone, and they were even able to enlarge them! Something about seeing old photos in color really makes them seem more contemporary. I couldn't be happier with the results, and I will definitely be using them again in the future!

Very friendly employees, beautiful work.
We had a sign made for our business, we went in with our own design that they went off of and created a beautiful sign that was better than we could have imagined and only took approximately 2 weeks I definitely recommend this business and will use them again in the future if need to. Thank you Unisignco for the beautiful work.

UPDATE 3: Well, it's been about a year since I hired Unisignco to paint & do repairs to my 75 year old sign. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made. The sign went on the fritz again and this time I called someone else. What I've been told by the new people was .....there was nothing wrong with the transformer they replaced (and it took me months to get it back from Unisignco.) That the transformer Unisignco replaced it with, was probably used, but they charged me full price for it and Unisignco didn't do a good job of installing it.
On top of that, the new sign guy said Unisignco didn't use the proper paint for a metal sign. It appears to just be latex paint. I am so sorry I ever called Unisignco!!! They cost me a small fortune and did a crappy job! Unisignco should refund my money! NOW, my old transformer is back in the sign and working like a champ, but repainting the sign again is in the near future, thanks to Unisignco's lack of work ethic!
Update 2: Unisignco finally returned what they say is my transformer. I have to take it on good faith that it is my transformer. All of this could have been avoided had they not removed it without my permission. So, I'm still out the cost of the new transfomer plus labor. Now, I got 12 days use out of the sign, before it died after their last repair visit. They say something else went bad, which is possible. It's an old sign. I am letting them do the work, and we will see how long the sign last after this repair.
Update: 1Unisignco's owner offered to return my transformer this week and reinstall it. That did not happen. I received a phone call from Torrie, from Unisignco, leaving me a message saying that they replaced my transformer because it had holes in it. James, who actually worked on the sign said it had rust, ....now it has holes in it. Well, unbeknownst to Unisignco, Bay Area Electrical had worked on my sign, in recent years, offered to restore the sign, and the guy told me.....Your transformer is good, don't let anyone replace it , because the new ones don't last long..... Now....my transformer went from rust....to having holes in it.....ok....Torrie did leave a message offering a solution , and I guess I have to live with that. Do I want them bringing my transformer back, probably not, .....because I have no way of knowing if it is my transformer, nor do I know what has happened to it in their care. Bottom line is that I asked for the sign to be painted and that 3 letters, SON, be repaired. If they had asked if I wanted a new transformer, I would have said no. I'm in the restaurant business....you don't replace anything until it goes out. If they bring my transformer back now, and it doesn't last long, I will feel they did something to it......too much water under the bridge now....
1st Review: I was really only unhappy about one thing. So, I will address the " Elephant " in the room 1st. They worked on our neon sign several times this year. On one of these visits, I asked how much to paint the sign, and the guy said between $1700 and $2000. This was around 6 months ago. I understand that prices change, but when he brings the bill it was over $3000. As I'm writing the check, I look over the bill and find out that they replaced the transformer. I didn't authorize them to replace the transformer. I tell the guy, James, I didn't authorize that. I further tell him, I didn't want a new transformer because the modern transformers don't hold up. James agreed with this fact , he told me they replaced mine because it had some rust on it. Then he saw I wasn't happy about this and said I tell you what I will do,....we still have your transformer and when this new one goes out, we will replace it with your original transformer. I accepted this, but I really just don't have a great feeling about this. I don't know how much damage the transformer has suffered since they removed it or will suffer in their storage, or, if I'm really getting my original transformer at all.

We have been working with Unisignco since summer of 2021 when we were fortunate enough to see one of their trucks on the island and reached out. The Galveston Electric Company Lofts Board of Directors had just approved the project to re-light the neon sign on our building. It had been dark for many years. We had no idea what would need to be done or if it could even be done. Our records indicate the sign was originally installed in 1930.

Unisignco has been nothing short of fabulous to work with ever since. They took the project on and updated old wiring, replaced broken neon, added a timer, and re-secured the sign to the building. All at what was a reasonable cost for the highly customized nature of the work.

The lead technician for the project has been a joy to work with--a true craftsman. He explains clearly what is involved in every repair whether a major fix or a simple tweak. When this old beauty inevitably has a minor issue, mostly due to impossible-to-avoid water penetration, Unisignco is always incredibly responsive and in short order the sign is back and glowing in the downtown Galveston evening.

Finding UniSignCo was a gift that keeps on giving.
