This is not just a research institute but also houses a beautiful museum dedicated to the tribes of Maharashtra. There are about 5 galleries dedicated to the occupations, jewelry, handicrafts, photos, masks, musical instruments of the tribal people. They have done optimum utilization of space by re-creating the tribal houses in the open space of the garden between the galleries. The entry ticket is Rs. 20/- for Indian adults and Rs. 200/- for Foreigners. The only thing they could improve is the washrooms, they are in a horrible state.
Otherwise the museum is definitely worth visiting to know about the culturally rich tribes of our state.
