I had a deeply frustrating experience with Tec Equipment in Lathrop. I bought a doser valve from them for over $400, only to find out after paying an additional $500+ for diagnostics that the part they sold me was aftermarket and not suitable for my truck. Their own technician recommended I purchase an OEM part instead, which finally resolved the issue.

When I tried to return the aftermarket part, they assured me I’d get a refund in two weeks. That deadline came and went without any refund. I went back, gave them my bank information, and still nothing after another two weeks. When I called, they told me the refund was “approved,” but here I am, still waiting with no resolution.

This experience has left me feeling cheated and incredibly disappointed. For a company that prides itself on serving truckers, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I hope this review pushes them to treat their customers with more respect and resolve such issues promptly.

TEC has become our companies main stay for repairs on our fleet. They are honest, worth the price, my go-to shop, unbiased advise. This is a great shop with great personnel!

ZERO stars! They won't let you post unless you give at least one start. Beware! This is a real person giving an authentic review. We purchased a truck with warranty from TEC - Stockton. If the truck starts they sell it to you without giving it much more than a visual. You drive off confident in your new purchase and before you know it, you start to sense/hear something is not running right. No problem, you say, it has a warranty and I'll take it to the shop. By the time this truck gets fixed, we will have spent more than we paid for it. They deliberately give you a false sense a security by offering a warranty that will pay close to nothing. The truck has been in the shop every other week with one thing or another. We pay close attention to the codes if they pop up and get the trucks asap to the shop. They want to comeback and say that the computer is 100% accurate. Computer glitches happen all the time. There are many causes to this, so don't depend on a computer as the final authority. The warranty company will use every loophole to get out of covering certain repairs. TEC doesn't care that they sold you a lemon. We need to get the word out regarding their unethical business practices. I will definitely be contacting Better Business Bureau and other appropriate entities.

Went to TEC a few months back for BIT inspection and was impressed by their professionalism. I went back this week because I was having electrical issues and needed routine maintenance (oil/transmission). The mechanic figured out the issues quickly and the service manager, Andy, walked me through the process, service was exceptional! I finally found a place I feel confident about!

think twice before making a purchase with TEC equipment especially if its on the older side. I paid 6000$ for 2 years of warranty but EVERY SINGLE TIME ive tried to use the warranty, they will come up with some kind of excuse as of why I CAN NOT EVEN THOUGH I PAID 6000$ its truly a scam i cant describe it as anything else. At this point they don’t even try to come up with an excuse, they just say unfortunately , there is nothing we can do. what kind of warranty company says that to a customer? they also wont refund me either
