A great initiative by Tata so many years ago.
A pioneering institute for Fundamental Research.
This is the end of Dr Homi Babha Road and closer to the Scientists' colony and Somitra market and an old Hindu temple by the sea.
The area looks spacious and scenic.
If u walk roughly 1 km towards south, the Western Naval Command Mess is present.

One of the or maybe the best research institute in India with it's excellent and mind blogging position and highly maintained academic system. You will stay in one of the most expensive and beautiful places in india for free as a student in tifr.
