This guy knows his stuff! I build a computer and couldn’t get the screen to turn on- I troubleshot almost anything that comes to mind- I was giving up hope and was convinced my brand new motherboard was broken. Dave gave me a price estimate before starting the work and kept his word even though the job required extra time and effort. He approached the matter professionally- step by step, and with colossal enthusiasm, he did get to the bottom of the issue! I am very impressed by his passion for electronics, clever mind, and overall superb performance. He had parts on-site and got my computer to work! If you have any computer issues, this is your guy! Hardworking, super friendly, sincere, affordable, honest, and well, most importantly, he delivers results! I am very happy that I decided to use his services. Had an emergency with my cell phone today (a Saturday). Went by Stellar Computers and Dave Winters was able to make several suggestions as to what my phone issues might be. He was quick and efficient all the while telling me what he could do and the results I could expect. He had plenty of work to do on electronics in his shop but took the time to fit my cell in knowing that there was no way he could possible close on time and return to his home. I will definitely be passing the word on the work he was able to do on my iPhone.

Price-gouging and poor service in the time of coronavirus. I took my phone with a cracked screen to Dave for replacement. I was charged $150, which is an extremely inflated price, even for Kodiak standards. The screen was fixed about a week later, but the speaker was no longer working (it was certainly working when I brought it in). I asked Dave if it was possible that he forgot to reconnect a speaker wire during the repair. He said it was impossible. He said he would charge me $75 to look at it again, plus parts and taxes, etc. When I suggested that he stand by his repair job, he said, "you're just like everyone else here, you want your (expletive) fixed but you don't want to pay for it." Indeed, I refused to agree to another overpriced repair and walked out with my still-broken phone. Later, I took the phone to a repairman in Anchorage who, for $35, confirmed that Dave had simply failed to reattach the speaker wire after repairing the screen. It's a real shame that Dave has such an unhelpful attitude toward the good folks in Kodiak who pay him handsomely for his unearned monopoly on phone and computer repair. I hope soon Kodiak will have some much-needed competition in this field.

I needed some work done on my laptop and wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it so I called up Stellar Computers and described the problem I was having. They were very friendly and helpful. They were able to diagnose the issue and order the part I needed to replace. It came in a few days later and they had my laptop fixed up in a few hours. It works great and I couldn't be happier.

So thankful for Dave’s help - I was in a real pickle when my phone that I use for work decided to stop working. He was able to provide a temporary fix that allowed me to use my phone until my parts arrived the next week, which was a life saver!!!
