It was a very educational stop in the town. We even were lucky to get a traditional dance and live narration of the Russian impact on the area. The show was free and only 30 minutes but we'll execute. The 5 dancers gave us all their energy with several outfit changes in those 30 minutes. It is not walkable from the cruise pier, yet the free city shuttles from the pier stop just in from of the building, there are long lines but move pretty fast. Still plan with plenty of time to make sure you are back on time in your ship. It is super cool that most of the ports of call in Alaska give you direct access to the town and some attractions and things to do (our ports of call where Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, and Icy Strait Point)

Inside is a very nice museum. For the totem walk... If you are facing the Museum, go to the right side and walk the path near the water. The totems are on the water side of the walk. Once you reach the totem in the green grass field, turn around, unless you want to walk through the woods with no totems.

The docent was friendly, small but informative place of Sitka history. 5$ is the administrative cost to get in (cash or credit) well worth the money.
