As a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at Georgia Tech, I needed to hire a person to code a recycling app for a group capstone project, although my team had a limited budget. After reaching out to friends and doing research online, I was introduced to Runway and its founder Ford Coleman through a mutual business connection. As I had never used Runway before, I did not know how to use it or what to expect. Right from the start I was pleased with the simplicity and genius of the platform. Since I was looking to hire someone, I created a business account on the platform in less than 5 minutes, then filled in the other details required, all of which followed a clear and logical pattern. As a business, you have access to students from the best universities in the country, and can hire them for way cheaper than what you would pay standard professionals! Runway recommended multiple students for my project based on the skills and experience we needed, in which our team reached out to all the qualified candidates. After three weeks of multiple interviews, my team found an amazing candidate through the platform, who not only coded my team’s app, but also got it on Apple’s App Store; he completely exceeded our expectations!

At the center of this great experience was Ford, who constantly reached out to me at every step in the process. Ford is very friendly, motivated, hardworking, respectful, and genuine, and his communication style is clear and straight to the point. He responded to most of my phone calls, and when he couldn’t, he would text me right away saying that he would call me in the next ten minutes or another time. From Ford’s work ethic, it is clear that all his clients are his top priority. Ford makes a personal connection with his clients and makes them feel like he is with them every step of the way.

I really enjoyed my experience using Runway, so I am now seeking a part time job as a student through the platform. From a student’s perspective, the platform is just as easy to use: simply make an account, fill out the required information, and get paired up with companies based on your industry and skill sets. I am very grateful for the amazing experience I had on this platform. I give Ford and Runway my highest recommendation!
