Well my wife was diagnosed with RSD about 3yrs ago after having a simple procedure done to her left foot. She had a Morton Neuroma cyst removed and this procedure changed our lives forever. We had been to countless doctors around the tampa fl area with little to no success. We found Dr Kirkpatrick and he performed a few spinal nerve blocking injections into her lower spine in an attempt to help with her insane pain levels. On a scale of 1-10 she was a million. Well the nerve. Blocks did help somewhat, but not a lot. We weren't given any form of physical therapy to help build up the muscle mass that she lost while not being able to use her left foot for 3 long years. He did recommend for her to use our pool for excersise by doing doggie paddleing but only if the water temp was above 82*. This was ok during the summer months but didn't have much success with the Therapy. Dr Kirkpatrick then offered to perform the Ketamine infusion therapy for my wife but the cost was a staggering 10k. You have to understand that he does not accept any form of health insurance (I'm sure he's been burned by ins companies in the past). So the nerve blockers set me back about 6k and now I was looking at 10k more. I. Just don't have this kind of money. So my wife had to suffer for a while longer. We did finally find a Dr Hanna over in Clearwater Fl who does accept health insurance coverage. He performed the same ketamine infusion therapy on my wife and WOW! what a successful treatment this has been. My wife is now able to walk on her left foot (with the helpful use of crutches for now). When we met this new doc one of my first questions yeah you guessed was how much is this gonna cost me out of pocket. The doctor looked me square in the eye and said whatever your co pay is, is what you'll pay. Omg this actually made me cry and the doctor came over to me and gave me a very strong hug. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MAN. He has changed my wife's perspective on life in a very short period of time. My total out of pocket expenses at this point is $80 for the initial doc visit. I hadn't been asked to make a co pay for each of the 8 days of ketamine infusion treatments. I asked each day and was told you've already made your co pay. This is by far the most compassionate and caring doctor I have ever met in my entire life. I would happily refer him to anyone that is dealing with chronic pain issues and know that you'll receive the best of care. The women in both doctors offices were absolutely the sweetest around. But the two doctors are a world apart. I do believe Dr Kirkpatrick is a good doctor but unfortunately in my opinion (and I could be wrong on this) is that he is in this for the money not for the healing of the patients. I hate to knock this doctor but I just had to speak the truth. I gave 3 stars because I feel 1 star would. Be disrespectful and that he did help my wife somewhat. But I paid 6k for the nerve blocks and I paid $80 for the real treatment. I'm not gonna give you the number to Dr Hanna but I have given you his name and he's in Clearwater fl. Google him up. There is a review from me there as well. If your loaded with cash and money is no issue for you then Kirkpatrick can be right for you. But if your not filthy rich call Dr Hanna and tell him you need his help and you will get it. Sorry for the negative review Dr Kirkpatrick. I believe in speaking the truth and this is what it is. Much respect for both doctors.
