One of the masterworks by architect Louis Kahn (1901-1974) who was also a resident of Philadelphia and a professor of architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. Completed in 1962, the laboratory is famous for its division between served and servant spaces. The towers are reminiscent of ancient Italian towers which Louis Kahn admired and painted.

The Louis Kahn building! I went on a Sunday, and could not get inside. Don't know whether you can visit inside as an outsider. There's a memorial park right behind the building. A very very intimately peaceful park. The trees obscure the view of the building completely though.
