If you can find another postal annex withing 20 miles of this location, use it. I called this morning to get an estimate to send a letter to England via FedEx as service that Postal Annex offers. The women answering the phone was rude and refused to provide me any information. She felt is best for me to use my gas and time to go there personally. I contacted another Postal Annex on Avocado Blvd and spoke to any employee. She happily helped me by providing me an estimate. This place has lost a customer for life. If you can’t find an alternative Postal Annex, I suggest you use a UPS store as they have been nothing but courteous to me for years. Good luck and avoid the mean Ogars out there.

Guess I should've read the reviews first and done my research. And perhaps maybe applied online vs going to them. This place has left me feeling a little unsettled. Went in there the other day to renew my passport. Couldn't decide if I wanted to just renew the book or just wanted the card. Anyways they somehow talked me into getting both which I later on regretted and don't see the need for me really needing to have both. Should've renewed just the book!!! It's just a waste of money. $190 dollars later.

I was also very unhappy with the pic he took and wished we would've retaken it. On top of that, I was already nervous cause there were multiple sets of eyes on me during the picture taking since he was training someone as to how to take passport pics and such. I'm sorry but I just don't think it's a good time to train someone on that as your trying to take a person's pic since it already is nerve-racking. Maybe perhaps train & practice between your own staff instead? Or at least should ask how a customer feels about that. I expressed a couple times after the fact that I hated the pic & that I looked terrible but he didn't offer to retake it at that time! My eyes look completely black in the photo. AND on top of that he had said to not smile at all ...so my pic basically looks like a mug shot photo. In my previous passport photo I did in fact have a soft subtle smile/smirk. Later on after researching it, I found out that you actually can have a soft subtle smile in a passport photo but to just not smile big & don't show teeth.

After I made the check out for the passport book/card they proceeded to tell me the additional cost of the processing fee & picture fee so I ended up having to pay it. I had to pay separately using my debit card for that. I don't feel that they were transparent on that up front when they initially gave me the quote. I had thought that the quote was including all of that, the processing fee & pic. They need to be more clear on this with their customers.

I called the next day expressing my frustration and they basically said there's nothing they can do. He said to wait till I get the documents back and then can reapply again if I still don't like the photo. And I said, really!? Yeah and you mean pay for it all over again?!! No, I don't think so! Who has the funds to be able to reapply multiple times for this?!

Apparently after doing some research, there's a specific form that can be filled out to change the passport photo if it isn't a clear picture, etc. I asked if I could go back there & if he could retake the photo for me since I didn't like the first one & he said yeah but we'd need to charge you again. I don't think that is right & I'm not a happy customer!

This location is not open until 6 they close at 530. Not sure how anyone who has a 9 to 5 job is supposed to get here and utilize this place with them closing at 530. And since they have failed to update their hours on google you can show up and be frustrated but not get done what you need.

I have been using Postal Annex for all of my notary, shipping and packaging needs since I moved to La Mesa five years ago. The couple who runs this location (and their entire staff) is always friendly, kind, professional and lovely. Highly recommended, and I love supporting a small business.

Go somewhere else--poor customer service! We bought $80 of stamps not realizing there was a 40% markup on them. When we tried to return them unused, we were refused. The owners rudely ganged up on my wife when she politely objected. We were going to make another $60 purchase, and when we decided against it after being treated so, the lady owner had the audacity to remind us that we'd "be supporting a small business." These owners have an entitlement mentality while offering bad customer service. We'll be going to another postal service business down the road from now on.
