I needed to call the number on the back of the contract for help. I did, and after the third transfer spoke with Abigail Rodriquez. From the moment she answered, her welcoming ways put me at ease. After telling her what I was trying to accomplish, she went right to work making sure that I had all I needed. Giving of her time and efforts, she earned my trust. Customer: An absolute nightmare of a company. After providing all proof of maintaining our vehicle and dealing with their horrible customer service (5 mths) my claim was denied and I had to pay out of pocket, 8k for a new engine
Portfolio Response: You may have the required maintenance procedures performed by a Repair Facility that You choose. However, if You choose to have the maintenance performed by a Repair Facility other than the Selling Dealer, you must call the Administrator in advance of each, and every service not performed by the Selling Dealer. Failure to do so will result in denial of coverage under this Contract”
Customer Response: not 1x was that a reason in my denial. And after reading contract numerous times from beginning to end it does not state that! Give me a call and point out for me please

Rose Nestor was a pleasure to work with. After numerous attempts to get an issue with our car warrenty rectified, Rose finally resolved our issue. She was the only one that seemed understand our issue and know how to fix it. She is truly an asset to the company. I had a GREAT experience with Shelby Hill. She went above and beyond helping me with some cancellations that I was having a hard time getting from the dealer I bought my truck from. Without her help I would not have gotten my refund from the dealer. I really appreciate what she did for me.

What an absolute disaster of a claims process.
Have been waiting 6 days for an email authorization, spent over an hour on hold today only to get hung up on, called corporate told they would get me to an escalation team, transferred into the same holding pattern as before.

DO NOT AGREE TO CALL ON BEHALF OF CUSTOMERS.

UPDATE: got to talk to someone, told it has to be reviewed, I asked for a timeline for said "review" the answer "I can't answer that" my response "please find out as you require me to keep the customers vehicle at the shop until a decision is made on claim coverage"
Promptly hung up on.

I AM POSITIVE THIS IS THE WORST AFTERMARKET WARRANTY COMPANY.

UPDATE 2:
YOU WILL BE PLACED ON HOLD, AT THE 25 MINUTE MARK (of your hold time), IT WILL INITIATE AN AUTOMATIC CALL BACK SYSTEM AND THEN HANG UP ON YOU.

THEY WILL NOT CALL BACK REGARDLESS OF WHICH OPTION OR DEPT YOU SELECT. I AM NOW THREE PLUS HOURS INTO CHASING THEM DOWN TO TRY AND GET AUTHORIZING FOR A CUSTOMER. A CUSTOMER WHO HAS COVERAGE IN THE CONTRACT FOR THE REPAIRS NEEDED. A CUSTOMER WHO HAS BEEN WITHOUT THEIR VEHICLE FOR 6 DAYS BECAUSE OF THE CLAIMS "PROCESS".
A CUSTOMER HOW ALSO CAN NOT GET THEM TO ANSWER A PHONE CALL.

AT THIS POINT I AM BEGINNING TO DOUBT THIS IS EVEN A REAL COMPANY.

YOU'D HAVE BETTER LUCK GETTING PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FROM UNITED HEALTH

I recently sold my vehicle which had a warranty covered by Portfolio. The transfer process was a bit confusing and time consuming to complete. After putting together the needed documents and fee for transfer, i mailed them USPS certified and the post office never delivered them. My 11 year old son had recently passed away and I was overwhelmed , so this task was an unwanted stress in an already devastating time. I called the office in Farmers Branch, TX directly and spoke with JoLynn McCullough. She was so friendly, polite, and sympathetic to my situation. She decided to take on the transfer herself and guided me through the process making it as easy for me as possible. The transfer was completed quick and I was able to move on from the sale of the vehicle. I was so thankful for JoLynn and the incredible customer service she gave me.

They will deny claims without doing an inspection. They will deny coverage repeatedly again without inspection. Their repair policy is to cover parts and installation but not freight. I had to have an axle replaced, and it was shipped. I called all the local repair shops, and none had any axles in stock on their premises. My contract doesn't state that freight is excluded. They're nonresponsive and elusive. Their customer service agent hasn't returned my call for over 3 days of repeatedly calling and emailing. They want to have a battle of words not contained in the contract. I'm not going to simply go away and not educate others of their poor insurance protection/coverage and disappointing representatives. It's a matter of schematics, and I am going to pursue it with my lawyer and with the California Department of Insurance. Shady extended warranty provider who doesn't have after-hours or weekend service. All repairs have to be preauthorized. However, no one contacts you, no direct phone lines, and you have to demand a call. Disgusting, really.
