One of my favorite national environmental NGOs! They focus on the environmental issues that are most pressing and focus on the solutions that make a significant impact. Almost all of these negative reviews are by anti-environmentalists. Sheesh.

I don’t know where some of these negative reviewers are getting their information, but many key environmental protections have been successfully passed in this country thanks to NRDC.

I have found their staff of environmental lawyers and scientists to be some of the most dedicated and conscientious people I have had the pleasure of engaging with. Will continue to support them and their mission to save our planet.

This is an effective organization that has won many court cases to block legislative changes aimed at helping corporations increase profits at the expense of our public resources and environmental health. If this is work you believe in, they are one of the top non-profits fighting to protect our country from corporate control of our government. If you notice, all of the 1-stars are from the exact same time period about a year ago, due to a right-wing misinformation campaign. I'll give them 4 stars instead of blindly giving 5 or 1 like everyone else, because no organization is perfect, but I've followed their work for years and I strongly believe in what they do.

I am not sure the nrdc really cares about environment . I have made a donation 2 years ago and asked since then not to receive any paper communication, but never got a response back (while this is perfectly fine with other ong). So, every few months i receive a letter with good quality color paper sent from Fullerton, California to Spain... Hopefully with this comment, this will stop.

If I could leave zero stars that's what I'd do. This outfit bangs a drum about saving the environment, protecting the wildlife, going after government agencies that seek to harm the health of citizens. This however is a farce, and just a sounding board to get individuals and corporations to their website, and further more to their donate button. The truth of the matter is, while they claim the above is their mission, their true mission is to hamper the USA in improving infrastructure, job creation, developing projects, construction, litigating corporations to the point of bankruptcy, all while looking the other way with their double standard policies when it comes to China and Russia. China in particular has some of the worst pollution in the world, hence why all the folks are wearing masks there. Their commercial fishing waters have been over-fished for quite some time, but yet, the NRDC will not use their tactics they use in the USA over there to improve citizens and animals quality of life. This tells me they are heavily funded or manipulated by outside interests and would not ever recommend this as an organization to donate time or money. I'll give to the homeless or veterans long before this outfit.

Scam artist claim to protect environment but all they care about are the Donations they can get. Steer clear of these 250k salary hacks. They gave China an Award for their Environmental Care , China, where they have to wear mask everyday just to go outside...

My opinion is that they tell a certain group of people what they want to hear for donations. Many industries will not invest in America because of their trivial lawsuits and negative publicity. I am for a strong America that is self-sufficient and not held hostage by foreign commodities. So many groups are not.

A very high rated charity by Charity Watch and Charity Navigator. Most of the negative reviews here come from people who are politically motivated to rage post against the proven fact that anthropgenic global warming is the primary driver of climate change. NRDC is a global organization with offices in the US, China, India and Latin America. They work with scientists, lawyers, businesses that practice ethical capitalism and their 3 million members to raise awareness and fight for the environment in court and in the streets.
