The Science academy building offers the most amazing viewing platform across all of Riga. For a small fee you get to take a lift 15 floors up, then walk the last two floors to access the observation deck. We saw a lovely hazy sunset, followed by amazing full moon views. It was spectacular.
It doesn't look particularly open to the public from outside at ground level, but there is a small kiosk when you go in, to buy a ticket and get guided to the right elevator.

Great views from the top, especially at sunset! I've knocked off 1 star because 8 euros (no discounts for students etc) is very expensive IMO, I'm sure they would make more money overall if they charged 5 euros. They stay open until 22:00 in August, I don't know about winter when sunset is around 15:00. They do accept card payments. You take the lift to the 15th floor and then walk up 2 more floors. There is a toilet at the top.

One of the greatest examples of soviet classicism. Amazing building. Tourists can also go the panoramic terrace.

The little brother of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw.

The smaller brother of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw and they are quite alike aside from that this one is smaller and not as impressive. But i would still say that it's worth it since you get one of the best viewpoints over Riga.

The cost of entry is 6€ per person, and you have a lift that almost takes you to the top. You need to walk only the last two floor to the top by yourself. And it's quite an interesting path you take to get there, but it gets the job done since you have signs pointing you the right way.

When you arrive to the top you have a great viewpoint over the city from all directions.

Nice view! Pay cash, €8 per person. If you are not very mobile, be warned, last 2 floors you need to climb the stairs.

Reminds me of „The Palace of Culture and Science“ in Warsaw. View from the rooftop platform is really nice. Entrance fee: 6€
I would recommend having a look over Riga.

Something like one of the "Stalin sisters" or maybe their cousin, a terrible soviet-style architectural piece. Or a masterpiece, if you are a fan of this. Viewing platform was nice, views pretty OK. Price acceptable. We were there in the evening and were one of very few visitors. There is also a toilet some one or two floors lower than the terrace.

Cool view for a few euro. The building is a very Soviet Stalinist style. The way to the top is very random travelling through old corridors mixed with 90s pvc windows and doors. Interesting experience and worth doing for half an hour.
