There is no actual kiosk in Palmer Alaska and that building hasn’t been FredMeyers for five years.

I lost my spare key to my car and really needed a backup. I knew the dealership could replace it but at a high cost. I had sent the KeyMe machine before but wasn’t sure it could make what I needed. I decided to try it because even a key that could unlock the door would work for me. I was pleasantly surprised to see how thorough the service was in getting me the exact key coded to work in my vehicle ignition. For less than what the dealership charged and free shipping I got a spare key and a second discounted spare as a backup in case I lose one again. 4 stars instead of 5 because I was expecting legitimate Make keys and they are clearly aftermarket, but they both work in door and ignition so, overall, I’m happy.

Key worked! 4x the price of the Palmer Locksmith down the road and 3x the price of having a Fred Meyer associate use the store's machine at the auto parts aisle, but the service was convenient and the key worked (which is more than I can say for the copy that the Fred Meyers associate made for me last week). Paying for convenience and reliability, I imagine. Stars docked only for pricing point.

Having the keys made was a breeze and the keys work better than when I have had them brought into stores to be made in the past. Very smooth! Very cool designs and the shipping was free, even to Alaska! It arrived in a nondescript package, so it was discreet. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the keys arrived un-filed (metal shavings still curled around them) which was only a minor inconvenience since I we had to physically removed the metal shavings but didn't affect the functionality. Also a couple of the key designs we chose were apparently pretty big, which I wasn't expecting. They probably said the size in the description and I didn't pay attention, but I might not have chosen them if I had known...
