The visitors centre just right next to the port where the cruise ship docked. It was a rainy day when we reached this first city in Alaska. The staffs are very polite and informative. We arrived during the USA Memorial Day, we are quite lost if we were able to visit all the places as planned. Staffs are patient informing us where can we go in the town. And kind enough to tell us about the free shuttle bus service, it’s really saved us a lot in such a rainy day. You may also collect the walking tour map to have a good guide in the city.
Outside, there is The Rock sculpture you should take a photo, The Rock tells the story of how Alaska's First City came to be, each sculpture has its own representation of the city, interesting! You can also see the Ketchikan sign right across the street.
Please do not jaywalk but follow the crossing guard instructions!

The first thing you find when you get out of the ship. Good information, friendly staff, clean and neat, restrooms available, maps and more. It is super cool that most of the ports of call in Alaska give you direct access to the town and some attractions and things to do (our ports of call where Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, and Icy Strait Point)

If there's a women with a beautiful short cut and amazing piercing as soon as you walk in the doors from ship PLEASE bypass her and go directly towards the fellows, a great bunch of guys and very informative about a wonderful city filled with wonderful people the woman upfront not So much condescending, rude with unwelcoming facial expression!
Whatever you do don't ask about walmart(we needed some supplies cold meds, extra carryon)she informed us that All we( I'm guessing visitors )and crew do is ravish their shelves empty and besides it's the smallest walmart why do we want to go!!
Thank goodness for the welcoming gentlemen upfront who informed us of several pharmacies in the area and told us that walmart has shuttle from port!, again i say thank goodness for the fellows because we were debating going back aboard and missing out on a wonderful time in beautiful city filled with wonderful people!

Cruising down the beautiful Inner Passage to our last stop in Alaska was this beautiful city of Ketchikan. Boy, do they get water soaked, their average annual rainfall is 12 & 1/2 Feet, pretty amazing and yes it rained while we were there. Lots of shops and sights that will entertain and sate everyone's tastes. It was hard to say goodbye as we pulled away from pier on our trip down the coast. Thanks ALASKA, what a beautiful State, and wonderful people wherever you go. We enjoyed and so will you.
