Absolutely terrible customer service. They charge late fees even though their bills arrive 3-4 weeks late in the mail. It literally shows a grace period on their bills and they still charge a late fee when you pay well before that grace period is done.

If you are ever having an issue with your Verizon phone/service, don't waste your time calling 611 or with Verizon down south. I've only ever been able to have issues fixed when I go to KPU customer service. Love their internet plan as well. We switched from GCI awhile back and haven't had issues since.

There was mail issues with my bill getting to me. I let them know my new address, closed out with my old address. About a month to a month and a half prior and they called me a month or so later asking me for my address. It confused me. Then my power was shut off. I called and spoke to them. Told them the mishap, I never got a bill and that I got paid the following Friday which was a day and a half away. They said because my old bill had some to pay they wouldn't turn the electricity back on. I have 6 kids. They are all under 10. I work full time. It broke my heart that they had no human-ness to them. Any of them... just money. I understood but it did not sit right in my soul. There should be human decency in any job. For just over 100 dollars they had me and all my babies with no electricity. My son was scared to walk our dark staircase to use the bathroom and soiled himself. Smh

When is this place ever giving good service? From adding surcharges to never having consistent internet to electric. For everyone considering to move to ketchikan just know you’ll be FORCED to go through them. Since there the only electric company on the island. Yet you get poor customer service. Also don’t be a “authorized pay person” on anyone account. If they don’t pay EVEN THOUGHT ITS NOT IN YOUR NAME! They will try and make you pay for it. Or won’t let you open an account in your name. Even though your not the primary or even set up as one.

Worst customer service along with even worst actual service. Anytime THE company has a problem with money or financial. They take money from the people. Ketchikan is the most expensive town to live in alaska. This electric company is partly to blame. Not having more options for electric. Also never go there for internet or Verizon. Some of the worst service for internet and the phone service never reaches the whole island. You won’t be able to go out south or both without having spotty service. Hands down worst utility company I’ve ever experienced.

This company is still standing only because it’s the only electricity company in Ketchikan. They claim they send you your bill but never do, then just turn you off without warning and expect you to pay for the reconnect fee.

Far to expensive internet and tv services. Went in for internet alone for streaming thinking we could afford that, to be told it's an extra 30$ if you want just unlimited internet without a bundle...completely unnecessary extra cost. We are paying over 100$ a mo the just for unlimited slow speed internet. We have a friend in Washington that works for Comcast and says it's about half the price for extremely high speed unlimited internet there. He said it's also a scam being forced to pay for a phone line when we don't need or use it... That in Washington the aren't allowed to force you to pay for a phone line you don't need. On top of that, I was told we couldn't have the 5m speed internet unlimited if we didn't purchase a bundle...robbery...it makes our family sick. What a thieving company. We would rather continue to have no internet or tv services then pay the owner of this company for what they offer. We are out our internet and they are out a customer who would otherwise purchase internet but not from a crook.
