It's great institute for advanced research for Onion and Garlic. Directorate of onion and garlic research is the premier Institute under the umbrella of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Here the basic research on onion and garlic is conducted and almost all available germplasm of India are being preserved here and is being utilised for improvement of onion and garlic in India. For reaching Directorate of onion and garlic research one have to take bus from Pune Railway Station or any other place from Pune. The institute is located on Pune Nashik Highway approx 49 km from Pune. It have a beautiful location and adjacent is the Bhima river. The Directorate of onion and garlic research also provide good quality planting material basically of onion and garlic to the farmers and helps them to produce and sell there produce the onion and garlic Research Institute provides technical as well as scientific methods of cultivation practices Mini mini trainings are organised for farmers 2 able them for produce good quality crops.
