This is my second purchase of Amp Research power steps and both times I have received there product damaged. This time I purchased their XL series and when unboxing the finish on all the brackets were all dinged up, the cheap aluminum rivets they use on the end caps was broken and had two nice size dents in the passenger side rail. I have made numerous attempts to contact AMP Research both by email with photos of the damaged parts and phone to have no luck in anyone getting back with me. I have also contact Real Truck who I made the purchase through and they started a warranty claim for me back in June but that is as far as it has gone and again I have made numerous attempts via email with no success in anyone getting back with me. So, you got me twice but I will never again purchase any AMP Research products or recommend your product. For what these products cost these days one should expect a higher level of customer service, and this to me is completely unacceptable. I know for a fact that there is another company that makes power steps at half the cost of yours and their customer service is top notch.
Updated 11/24 - AMP Research has made contact with me and went above and beyond to make everything right.

I wanted to update this review in the hopes it can help other people. Electricstep is no longer the warranty agent for these steps, and while they did not have to, they sent me links to get to the proper people to get this handled. I would like to offer my sincere apology to them for my mistake and to make sure others know how they went above and beyond to try to help.

Customer service was helpful in ordering correct replacement motor! Unfortunately I couldn’t get good information on how to tackle replacement with running board stuck in upper position. Online help videos don’t cover this situation.
I was able to remove running board after removing screws from t- brackets but front bracket being stuck would not allow for board to be removed in normal fashion.
I was able to remove end cap, lubricate channel and then carefully hammer board (using wood block to protect end) backwards till it slide past leading bracket with motor. It then came off. Now I had access to dead motor/gear box. Bracket released once gear box/motor was removed allowing it to drop. From there the process was straightforward.
Board operating flawlessly once again!

I have an amp Research power step controller, which has gone bad. I didn’t have any luck getting through to the company via phone number so I decided to send an email. They got back to me within Two business days. Informed me I should reach out to technical support and gave me all the info. I decided to submit a ticket via email. I received a call back very quickly. My technician was very thorough and took all the time we needed to diagnose the problem. I am happy with the service. I am a little disappointed with the material/amp Research controller, which is just over a year old and out of warranty. I drive a 2018 F250 and I have weird electrical issues with the vehicle. Wondering if the vehicle sent the controller, some bad voltage and fried it. I have purchased a new controller and the override button in case this happens again. A little tough to get the females in the vehicle without the steps.

Quick shipping and awesome customer support. My pride got the best of me when trying to install and I wasn’t going to call for help on install. When I finally gave in, i called and spoke directly to a rep and they walked me through the install. Could have saved a lot of time and headache if I would of just called first. Thanks for the help and awesome product.

If I could give no stars I would give them that. I waited almost 8 months for my parts to get delivered and only recieved one piece. I had to pay out of pocket to get my money back and even then it wasn't all of it. Terrible company and terrible customer service. Was able to get them to answer the phone only once in those 8 months. GO WITH ANOTHER BRAND OF STEPS.

I ordered a Siemen’s wiring harness in May. Was told they moved to TX and would provide when they got moved in. 6 months later, no harness and they cannot find my order anymore.

Avoid ordering from this company, they will take your money, not send your product, and then stick you on hold for over an hour, before a rep says they cannot find your order anymore.

I am requesting full refund from electricstep.com bc a single component apparently cannot be made / shipped when ordered and paid for.

This is the worst experience I have ever had ordering vehicle parts, from any company.

I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma. I installed a set of Amp steps back in 2014 and my wife and I have loved them ever since. Around a month ago they started making a jerk like noise like they were slamming down when the door opened. I called the amp tech support team and described what they were doing and the guy told me exactly what I needed to fix them (new rubber stoppers). Additionally I asked if there was anything else I needed to do to freshen them up. He recommended trying their new style of boards that are slimmer than the tub style I have now. Everything looks great and the noise is gone. They are like new again. If I ever get rid of this truck, I will definitely have a set on my next one.
