For rural Alaska the internet speed is quite good. It is expensive though. I own a business and 50/10mb download/upload for $170. The customer service has always been good and prompt. No major complaints.

The people who answer the phone here always treated me like I was bothering them the handful of times I called about the internet service issues we experienced. We had awful, spotty service for months. Each time I inquired about seeking a resolution, I was met with the driest, flippant attitude. One person even told me my "entire house needed to be rewired" in order for us to have decent internet service. They contacted the electric company and requested they come by our house to test our power - without our knowledge or consent. Our power was shut off when I was home, alone with our newborn baby. So unprofessional. The issue turned out to be with the old phone line, not with our power. Each time a technician needed to stop by (maybe 6-7 times total), i requested to know around what time they'd be coming by as I have a young child. I was always met with the most bizarre attitude about that SIMPLE request. It was as though what I'd asked was ludicrous to them. I moved from Cordova, but not before paying my final bill & returning the leased equipment to Cordova Telecom. Almost a month later, I received a bill that claims I owe for an amount that 1) has already been paid and 2) includes a period of time that I didn't even live in Cordova any longer ? They don't have it together and the women who answer the phone could use a bit more tact and customer service training. The only positive I can share is that their service technicians were always very nice and tried to be helpful. It's a bummer the residents in lovely Cordova don't have a friendlier group of people to help them and, overall, a better internet option.

Their WiMax serivce, their portable wireless internet solution, is horrible. They offer you a device to wirelessly connect to, but you need to spend $60 *per device.* That means if you want internet to your computer and your phone, that's $120 per month. The speeds are not bad, not is the latency--when their service is actually functional. Expect their towers to be down constantly and only give you the generic "we'll call you back with an update" response and never call you back and your problems left unsolved. They also do not want you doing "too much" with their service otherwise they will lock you out of their service for 24 hours with no repeal but they will still gladly take your money.No refund options were available.

Shady business. Cheapest Internet in Cordova, but they don't care about you as a person. They just want to dig their hands in your wallet.
