Last month, I flew in from San Francisco to participate in a study at Anaheim Clinical Trials, and it turned out to be a complete waste of time. The staff, including the front desk, screening team, and nurses, all seemed like they hated their jobs. They were cold, unprofessional, and disorganized throughout the process. I was assured I would be part of a specific study, only to have the details changed without any prior notice. The lack of transparency and honesty was infuriating.

Beware: This place severely lacks professionalism and integrity. Their communication is poor, and they seem more focused on filling slots than respecting participants' time or providing accurate information. The negative attitude of the staff made the experience even worse. I strongly advise others to steer clear and explore other options. My experience left me feeling misled and undervalued. If you're considering participating, think twice!

This location continues to empress every time I go there. I appreciate that they make continuous efforts to make the volunteers experience positive and as smooth as possible. I admittedly have very tricky veins, not for beginners;) and the staff take their time and don’t immediately give up. I also sometimes get nervous when I go to a screening because I’m not crazy about the blood draw portion, so it can take me a few minutes to calm and get my vitals where they need to be. The staff went as far as talking me through a breathing technique to help me not be so nervous, and it worked. So far this is my favorite study site. I appreciate you ACT!

They don't understand the meaning of human rights !

I could tell you to stay far away from this place and keep emphasizing on the bad manners AND UNSAFE conducts and their HUGE disregard of Human life that %90 have at ACT
but until you go and experience for the first time how outrageous THE managing team / so called study coordinators / worst medical staff YOU WOULD SAY THE SAME !

UPDATE: The staff lied about me during my last study, ruined my time here, they made up a rumor and called me names. I have to contact my attorney to work things out. They aren’t as they were when I was first coming here. The staff was not going above and beyond what so ever and I complained to them and they didn’t want to take any responsibility or accountability for their behavior instead they made false complaints about me saying I was rude and disrespectful when clearly I was on their side since the start! I talked to Mark and he said they complained so much about me through email and I was barely there for 10 nights and I hardly talked to the staff; and I didn’t do anything to diss them and nor was I rude what so ever! It was them that was hostile and had attitudes and were very judge mental towards me. I have to be taken off the “do not call” list for this injustice so I can do another study there. Mark said he will consider this.

I’ve done a good 4-5 studies here and I always enjoy my time. I’m grateful to be able to volunteer and get paid a good sum of money. It’s really a great opportunity. They feed you quality food, the interior is up to par with the pay, and the staff is cool as long as you follow protocol. The beds they need to update as far as bunk beds but when you get your own room it’s cooler. Otherwise, they take care of you while you stay. Always kind over the phone and they always tell you all the details in advance.

I wouldn’t go near this place with a 10 foot pole! The staff is very uneducated and unprofessional. They are cruel to patients they don’t like they make sure to stab you extra hard when drawing your blood. This is not a safe place to go for extra money would you like to be treated like a slave for days on end? I don’t think so steer clear of this place the owner, the staff, even the food servers all very rude they hate their jobs and black women.

I was fortunate to participate in a drug study for a post-bunionectomy pain medication. The staff were all cordial, professional and supportive.
I stayed at the facility for 3 nights, thankfully in a private room because the larger room for other subjects tended to be noisy into the evening. The funds for my participation were immediately applied to the debit card as promised the day I was released. They were considerate of my vegetarian lifestyle when selecting meals during my stay. I felt well cared-for during the screening process, before and after the surgery and during the post-surgery checkup visit.
Kudos to Dr. Winkle, Dr. Do, Dr. Danielle, nurse Adrianne, Michelle, Alexis, Rebecca and all the others who supported the bunionectomy study. I would recommend this facility and am interested in future clinical trials. Thanks CenExel ACT Anaheim!

Waste of money and time.Their recruiting is uninformed, unreliable and the recruitment manager, Mark, is very unprofessional, rude and glib. I traveled across the country for a screening that they told me over the phone was one stay of 30 nights. The recruiters did not give me the dates even though I called three times to figure out the details.
Once I get there they tell me I have to check in and checkout three separate times before completing the 30 night stay. It was ridiculous and I told them if I had been informed of that then there was no way I would have done all the travelling to make it. I told them that the recruiters over the phone did not disclose that.
I eventually spoke to Mark, the recruitment manager. He told me that they SOMETIMES record the calls, but didn't record mine. Hmm, sounds pretty suspicious. He kept repeating that in an antagonizing way that there was no record and that they couldn't compensate me for my travels even though I spent $500 under the facade of misinformation they gave me.
He then went on and asked irrelevant questions about why I canceled a previous, different screening 4 months ago. Um, how is canceling a screening from 4 months ago relevant to the misinformation I received? I told him it was because of a scheduling conflict, which again, was of no relevance to the current screening.
They even admitted they would not have allowed me to screen if I came from out of state, which begs the question, did they disclose the dates then? And why did they allow me to screen?
I was clearly upset after spending all this money and time for something that was their fault. Mark told me he would put me on a priority list. I called a few months later and it turns out I'm on their do not call list. Pretty unscrupulous and sleazy if you ask me.

* I will update when I am in a study

I went in for a screen that lasted roughly 3 hours(paperwork, c19 test and screening procedures, it will go by fast). Catherine was my coordinator, Sophie did my vitals, and Sydney took my blood. Everyone was kind, answered any and all questions I had and my overall experience was great!
