Once we were able to actually work together on some shared projects, we quickly learned how buttoned up they are. Anders and his team are amazing. We are building an ADU in place of our old garage and adding a new garage next to it. Knowing how hard the process can be, dealing with regulations and city requirements, we wanted to have the architect with the knowledge and experience work in the town we live in. Anders listens and cares and always open to discuss details and changes that come up both in the process or by our request. We selected Anders and ALA for their stunning designs, broad experience and pragmatic approach to fulfill our dream for a modern luxury duplex in Laguna Beach. Anders has a unique talent for creating designs simultaneously soaring and grounded that contain refined, intimate and inviting living spaces. Anders and Christine were perfectly suited to capture our desires and help us navigate all phases of the long and difficult design review and plan approval process. They patiently worked through our design ideas and fully supported a custom pre-fab solution that introduced a new collaborator and placed limits how the project could be shaped. ALA have an open and collaborative style, exploring all ideas and ensuring only the best remain. Anders was able to accommodate our needs and give us an amazing home containing all the elements of his signature style.

Choosing to work with Anders and his team for our major home renovation project in Laguna Beach was a good decision for many reasons. Working quickly they developed great design solutions for the house that not only met our needs, but also went beyond our expectation for design. Anders is very experienced working with the City of Laguna Beach and he secured Design Review approval at our first hearing - which is no easy task! Now, as we're getting ready to build the house, Anders and his team are helping us find the right builder so we can hit the ground running as soon as permits are ready. Many design professionals check one or two boxes but few have what I would call the complete package.
