This is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the USA and has been granted an exemption from EPA mercury and air toxicity standards. Mercury is a neurotoxin that can cause developmental problems in infants and children.

I appreciate cheap electricity to heat and cool my house! CO2 is not what congress had in mind when they passed the Clean Air Act. Spending trillions of dollars that we don't have(see national debt of $36 trillion) to somehow "stop climate change" makes no sense. We should spend are money wisely for mitigation of any possible bad effects from rising CO2. Closing working power infrastructure while China builds new coal plants will bankrupt our country and give them a huge economic advantage that will lead to the destruction of freedom and democracy in the world! That's my 2 cents worth!

We don't switch to solar power because?.... the company would make more money from clean energy grants from the government and pollute less. So it's not really greed at a certain point so much as it is stupidity.
