I set up a study for treatment. Regina called me and we changed the date because of a conflict. I asked what the compensation was and she didn't know. She said the answer was in the study guide and she wasn't going to take the time to look up the answer. She said that she would send me the study guide, but I didn't receive it. I called today and talked to 3 different people including the Director who continued to interrupt me after I asked her not to, which is very unprofessional. On a scale of
1 - 10, I would rate this office a 0.

I absolutely trust Accel and their progressive studies to provide humanity with excellent results. They screen volunteers whom have already been diagnosed with a problem and from there they will decide if you are a good match for a particular study. Your contribution to these studies help a diversity of people with varying degrees of ethnicity and age. I just left the Maitland Center hopeful to participate in the Anxiety study which involved taking some medications I was unwilling to take from a past experience that did me no favors. We both agreed this study was not for me and noted there would be another upcoming event that will be offering alternative medications that may benefit me. Honesty is the best policy because you are helping research determine the fate of those who want and need the help they deserve for a successful happy life with self and loved ones. They gave me a card filled with 26 dollars for my time and the card was used successfully without any troubles. Thanks for breakfast Accel! What a nice incentive for being honest and agreeable to helping yourself as well as humanity. I did the covid study for two years in deland two years ago and have never gotten covid. (Yet) no side effects at all. They even called me to see if id like a free booster as a past participant..and Dr. Rankin is a brilliant leader in research with an actual humorous and kind bedside persona. ♡ thanks to Michelle and Lisa at Maitland for being so positive ! My best to all.

Fairly disappointed after a great start with friendly, welcoming, and engaged staff.
I signed up for an RSV study and participated as required. I always brought my service dog with me to the test site in Maitland. I was well. All was well. About a year later, I contracted a severe bronchial infection that lasted for months. At the beginning of that, I reported the illness to Accel, showed up for a blood test, and waited for more than two weeks to hear back. No one from Accel called me to let me know whether I had RSV or not.
First, I am not saying or implying that I contracted RSV from the injection I received.
What I am saying is that Accel was not sensitive to a participant exhibiting all the symptoms of RSV. As they told me at the beginning of the trial, they themselves did not know if I were receiving the trial vaccine or a placebo.
I was doubly vexed because my own primary care physician would not order an RSV test, so I was relying on Accel for a result as they were the only ones who drew blood for this test.
Even though this lack of consideration/communication about my RSV test bothered me, I was willing to continue. As a science writer, I value well-conducted clinical trials.
The second, influencing incident occurred when I received a call saying that I could not bring my dog with me. I explained he was a service dog and that within ADA guidelines it was cool — and legal — that he accompanied me to my visits.
I asked that my question about service dogs being allowed (and again, legal) be run up the flagpole. "Could someone call me back?" I asked.
I was assured that yes that could happen.
After waiting for awhile for a response from Accel that never came, I called and canceled my next appointment.
No one ever asked me why I would pull out of an important study for which I pledged to stay the course less than halfway through. Another disappointment.
All that said, every time my great dog and I showed up, we felt welcome and appreciated by the nurses, aides, and administrators. (As such, I was shocked to hear that my service dog was not welcome.) For this reason, I am leaving 2 rather than stars. I want to acknowledge their kindness and acceptance. I am sad that Accel discouraged me, even if tacitly, from reciprocating.

Super disappointed in the service. My initial appointment was at 1230p, I got there at 1215p. And at 145p, I finally walked away. No one keeps clients updated of the delays. I went to the desk several times. No respect of client's time!
I clearly felt like a number!
I have great insurance and a primary care provider, so I was just "donating" myself for the sake of research!
I would NOT recommend this company.
