COW POOP EVERY WHERE!! ? We only found one fire pit area with a picnic table that was missing a bench on one side. The lake was nice, but with all the poop, the tight turn around fence with barb wire… we will go elsewhere next time.

Been fishing here for years, usually visit several times annually. Not the biggest fish, but beautiful area.

Update, careless people leaving their trash behind and abusing the land has resulted in no camping allowed, no fires, and the lake is terrible compared to a few short years ago. If you're going to trash your surroundings, stay home and do it with your own property! Still love this place, but my feelings toward the majority of its visitors is the polar opposite.

I love to fish! Skagway is about a 40-45 minutes drive from home and worth every moment and mile. I try to go at least once a week. Of course I love catching my limit but even the very few times I haven't i go away refreshed and happy that I was able to spend the day at such a beautiful place. Unlike some of the larger State Park reservoirs nearby Skagway offers a peaceful calming view of hills, mountains and trees. Its possible to spot wildlife of all sorts if your lucky. The only two drawbacks are the road in tends to have A LOT of washboard and the afternoon thunderstorms can be a bit intense and scary. That aside it is a peaceful place to enjoy nature and catch a great meal! Most boats and water floating enthusiasts are respectful of the fishermen and women. Like anywhere there are always those few who can be annoying.

Beautiful reservoir and surrounding area. Fishing is decent. Knocked some stars off because of all the super noisy people at the boat ramp partying it up until well after 1am. Have a little consideration for your fellow hikers/campers that don’t want to hear your music and shouting well into the morning. The other reason is all the trash, all the way around the shoreline, broken bottles, plastic debris, even a damn tampon applicator. Come on people, take care of your open spaces, what’s wrong with you?

Great fishing and beautiful scenery. It's that lake that's off the beaten path and because of that reason it's never busy. Only one parking lot which makes lake access to other parts of the lake almost impossible. Ice fishing is great on this lake too. Great place for hiking and if you're up for the hike, there is a historic power plant in almost immaculate condition. Not for the beginner hiker though! 🙂

Ice fishing here is a blast!!!
My buddy and I hike about 3/4 of a mile onto the ice in the early
morning hours and just slam the rainbows.
We even caught a very small Northern on a tip up, so I know there has
got to be bigger ones. We catch and release.....beautiful fish here.

Good fishing for trout and pike, when they bite. Limited camping in parking area and around reservoir. Boating and canoeing. Gets crowded in summer on weekends around dam and launch. Nice and secluded. Prepare for afternoon wind and showers.
