The ICAR-CCRI mostly working on development of new variety for good quality, increased productivity and production of Citrus. Another main goal of this institute is disease and pest management by controlling the most serious problems like Citrus greening, gummosis, pre mature fruit fall.

Premier research institute for Citrus research. Large collection of citrus germplasm. They have NHB accredited 5 star nursery, however their sapling production is not enough to fulfill demand from farmers and needs to be increased.
Well equipped labs and farmer friendly scientists. Their website is so pathetic and outdated. Also they need to use social media effectively to guide farmers.

Nagpur oranges are world famous. Unfortunately the ones we get locally in Nagpur are the rejected ones that can't be exported. This area having the highest number of oranges production in India, has led to this Research Centre being established here! Unfortunately, we don't see much benefits happening. The oranges we find in Nagpur local markets are still small and almost inedible! The Research Centre has not been of much help.
