I have 3.5 years' experience with McCormick and several years' experience with a competing estimating software as an electrical estimator of large commercial and industrial projects. Our typical estimates range between $0.5 million and $4 million. McCormick has proven to be intuitive and capable of handling our projects with relative ease, from takeoff to project management. The graphic interface is also easy to use. Whenever there is an issue, tech support has been helpful and proactive in working with us to resolve the issue. As a company, all our estimators are using McCormick, and are happy with it.

I first starting using McCormick Estimating in 2003, the early days are noting compared to the power and speed of the program today. My favorite feature is the Design Estimating Pro (DEP) that makes take-off a breeze, the automatic home run tool is the absolute best. With a little time and practice everything becomes second nature, almost like a tradesman actually designed the software for himself!! I use the program for everything under the sun that is electrical. From single family dwellings and multi-use building to hospitals and utility scale solar projects. The material data base is very extensive and the integration into my Trade Services pricing is seamless. My vendors update my pricing file once a month, the file is saved in a folder, then uploaded into the McCormick program and with click of the mouse all of my material pricing is updated. No more long list BOM's to send in for quotes!! Of course, lighting and switchgear are a bit different BUT there's a spot for that too!!

With any software there are issues but the team of IT professionals at McCormick are TOP rated in service, knowledge and communication. If they aren't available, I always get a call back and correcting the issue is typically just me hitting the wrong button but they never say that which make me more likely to call again when I hit another wrong button.

It's been 21 years since I first started using McCormick and yes I've used some of the others as well. The difference is system flow, ease of use, and integration.

Great Software and exceptional customer service! Makes creating a bid and preforming takeoff much easier with premade assemblies, extension reports, and a simple Bid Summary. Creating label sets for separation of takeoff to be broken out is very convenient. Our lead estimators have taken the in-person McCormick Systems training and said it was worth doing again!
