The launch area on Highway 49 is really terrible. It's extremely low water to launch in and to load your boat back up. The only problem with the lake itself is the moss is out of control and you have to clean your hook off after every cast.

Tried to fish here and a Stanly County punk sheriff cop pulled me over because I looked suspicious. I was carrying a fishing rod and tackle box. I guess they can only profile 58 year old white men for fishing. Fishing!!!! ID10T

We had fun. But the place REALLY needs some TLC. The dead fish are understandable. Gross but understandable... The ramp areas desperately need cleaned. The build up of algae is understandable because it just happens from the wind moving the water, etc. But the abandoned boat and the trash on the ground really need to be cleaned up. It's hazardous to the wildlife and visitors.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fairly large parking and two ramps. Well lit and two port-a-potties. Picnic shelter is very nice.

Ten minutes to main channel of Tuckertown lake at about half way between Highrock dam and Tuckertown dam.

Nice spot off Byway 49. 2 ramps to unload. Large gravel parking lot accommodates many boat hauling trucks. I've even magnet fished off the pier. My son fished out a propeller. Easy on and off, just be careful pulling out so fast, gravel kicks up.
