I have been getting my taxes done here for years now. Business & Tax always files my return very promptly once they've received everything needed from myself. My return has always been accurate. They're a great resource for tax information and the staff is highly knowledgable. I would recommend them to any individual or small business.

Had my taxes done here for several years. Last year, I was charged by Vermont with penalty and interest due to inaccurate filing of Vermont state taxes. In the contract, it says that I am responsible for the accuracy of the taxes, with the exception of them making an error, then they would pay the penalty charged. When I got the papers from Vermont and asked about it at the tax office, I was told their software had errors. I was told to do nothing and they would tell me when the error was cleared up.
I paid the penalty and interest so there would be no issues with the state of Vermont. I have tried contacting the tax office several times throughout the year and have gotten
no response.

I am so sad to be writing this negative review. After working with Mary Ann for the past ten years and referring her clients that entire time she has dropped me as a client. The reason she gives is due to poor bookkeeping, but I know its just because she doesn't "like" my bookkeeper. in the past I have considered her part of my team and attributed my success to her work. Right now in December of 2020, the hardest year for most small businesses, she left me in the cold to find another CPA. My business has struggled harder than ever and now during tax season she tells me I need to find someone else to do them. So so sad. I have always paid my bills and treated everyone at Business And Tax kindly. I highly suggest to business owners to find a more reliably CPA to do the very important work of keeping your business going.

I have had a tremendously positive experience with this business (formerly Business & Tax Consultants, now Vermont Tax Services). I have been a happy client since 2012. My tax situation is complicated, but they have always handled even the most stressful parts with infectious good humor. I have had kind, helpful interactions with multiple people in their office. I just can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommended.

I was a client for 17 year while I owned my own business. I have not been one for the past 9 years due to not being a business owner and my tax needs being simplified. We are now in the need for a business accountant for my sons business here in town. I called to see if they would be his accountant and due to an issue that is a complete misunderstanding of a 19 year old kid just heading out into the world. I’m getting told we are not taking new clients...Well CeCe it’s very disheartening to know that after 17 years of excellent business relation we mean nothing. That one misunderstanding of a 19 year old not knowing how the world works means you no longer will do business with good honest hard working business owner in this Town. By the way if ur company is turning away local new business owners who are looking for help with their business. You should at least have some referrals you could help them with. Not have your employee say if you find one let me know so I can tell people. I asked your help to share my hurt and disappointment with your decision to consider us new clients this with you. I’m sure she didn’t. We are not new clients we were returning clients that’s a huge difference!! This is not a company who shows they care about the people in this community especially past clients who have one misunderstanding with them. Their no longer considered clients!!!! Where is forgiveness and compassion. Definitely not at this company.

I called for some help with my taxes after receiving a notice from the IRS. I got snuffed at and told they were too busy. When I asked for a referral they wouldn't give me one. Said they were all busy...in September... NOT AT ALL HELPFUL or even nice about it.
