Erik connected quickly and easily at the beginning of each tutoring session. My 14 year old son found the games and activities fun and engaging, and they helped him focus on the tasks at hand. I highly recommend Erik for any tutoring or educational support your child needs. We hired him for 4 months during a transition between schools for my daughter. He met her where she was and was very considerate of our needs in a unique situation. He made learning fun and interesting and incorporated lots of games. Side walk chalk math was a favorite of my daughters. He is kind, respectful, a great communicator and easy to work with.

Erik made a huge impact on my son's success in his first college writing class. My son is very gifted verbally, but writing has always been such a challenge for him. He's neurodivergent and needed a tutor who could adapt and meet him where he is - who could help him try different approaches to starting a paper, organizing a paper, and executing his writing. Erik did just that - taught him methods for idea generation, research, organization, and also helped a lot with editing so that he could learn through every phase of writing. My son was so scared to take college-level English comp and, thanks to Erik, he got 100% on two of his essays and an A+ in class. More importantly, he developed tools for writing and built his confidence for future writing. I highly recommend Erik for your neurodivergent teens who need a little more support in their areas of challenge! Erik was responsive, dependable, flexible, encouraging and so helpful. He truly delivered!

I have ADHD, and this tends to affect my eating and sleeping habits. In particular, they are wildly unpredictable from one day to the next, and get in the way of my other obligations as a college student. Erik and I worked together to come up with plans to manage this executive dysfunction, and although this isn't a miracle cure, it has introduced an element of consistency and made me much more aware of how to make changes in my life. I am continuing to work towards consistent habits, and I have made lots of progress already, but I couldn't have done this without the guidance and organizational help that Erik has provided.

We loved working with Erik. Erik talked to us about our goals, and from that focused on higher level executive functioning with our child instead of merely getting assignments done. This enabled our son to be more independent with his schoolwork. Our son felt a greater sense of responsibility for his work by the end of the year from where he started. Also, Erik met him where he was at instead of trying to fit him into a predetermined program. When things weren’t working, Erik redirected and was very flexible with his approach. Our son went from mostly B’s and an A (with a lot of parental intervention) to almost all A’s, with a great amount of independence and responsibility. In one semester, Erik has helped set our son up for success in his academic career.

Dr. Dutilly has turned around my middle schooler's year! My son has dramatically increased his learning and his engagement with school while working with Erik. As a parent, Erik gives me frequent feedback on my son's progress, including detailed tracking of his progress with data. Erik uses this data to make targeted interventions to keep my son on track.
