Our wedding day simply would not have been what it was if it wasn't for the raw space at Senate Garage and the incredible team that accompanied it. We began our search in NYC and the Hudson Valley last December and looked tirelessly before entering what seemed like our dream wedding venue. As soon as we stepped foot inside, we knew this was our spot. The unique vintage details mixed with history, charm, and sophistication were precisely what we were going for, and the exciting part on top of that was that it was a space where we could customize it and make it our own. Nothing about the space felt forced or contrived. It existed naturally, and minimal work was needed to see how our vision could come to life. From day one up until our big day, April and the entire team were incredible to work with, promptly answering all our questions and creating a seamless experience for us the whole way. April made us feel like friends rather than prospective clients. One of our initial hesitations with Senate Garage was the fact that everything for the wedding would have to be done in one room, and there would need to be a "flip" that happens on the night off from ceremony - to cocktail - to reception. This concern, however, quickly vanished as we realized the flip happened without our guests or us even noticing, and the reveal to dinner, when the curtains opened, was beyond powerful. Our guests raved about how they couldn't believe they were in the same room that they had just been in for the ceremony. The whole night was everything we could have asked for and more, and to see it transform into our vision was the icing on the cake.

The beauty of Senate Garage lies not only in the unique aesthetic and flexibility to create a space that feels like your own, plus working with a stellar team, but also in the town that it sits in. Kingston is a wonderful, small-knit town with everything from coffee shops, record stores, art galleries, history walks, and some of the best food you will have (and we live in NYC!). We knew that booking Senate Garage would serve as a perfect venue, which spoke to our true personality as a couple and also provide an exciting weekend getaway for our guests.

If you are looking for a wedding venue that goes against the grain and provides timeless beauty in an industry that feels saturated with cookie-cutter experiences, then look no further!

We are so grateful for the wonderful experience we had for our wedding at the Senate Garage. April was such a joy to work with and such a reliable resource to have throughout the entire planning process. She answered all of our questions and gave us great recommendations. The best part about the Senate Garage is that you really have the opportunity to make it what you want. We were really able to make the venue feel like us and very comfortable for guests. We had a lot of guests from out of town and received so many compliments on how much they loved the space, the history, and uptown Kingston. April was also kind enough to pack us up a couple large to-go tray of some leftover appetizers, entries, and dessert as it's typical the bride and groom don’t eat a ton on their wedding day and we were so happy to have that the next day 🙂 I cannot recommend the Senate Garage enough as a wedding space. Everything was so perfect.

We had our wedding at Senate Garage on 9/16/2023 and couldn’t have imagined our special day anywhere else! When we first saw the venue back in March 2021, we knew it was the place for us. As all the pictures from the website and other reviews show, Senate Garage has a beautiful and unique combination of industrial, vintage and warm and romantic vibe. We had our reception inside and the ceremony and cocktail hour outside at the Senate House grounds (an extra cost). The garden provided such a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and plenty of photo ops! The venue comes with many benefits, including farmhouse tables and chairs, a wooden bar with vintage mirrors on the wall, a piano, unique light fixtures, a bridal suite, vintage and comfortable lounge furniture that can be moved wherever you’d like and more. Due to the beautiful character of the space and provided furniture, you truly do not need much decor or flowers!

April was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. She was SO helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process, providing vendor recommendations, helping communicate to vendors and even an after party location for us, and answering all our questions via phone or email related to timeline, the space, decor, and among other things! She helped make our day seamless. Our wedding was magical and the venue plus being in Kingston played a significant part in creating a warm and fun experience for our guests.

We had our wedding at Senate Garage on August 13th and it was incredible. April and the entire team took care of us from start to finish and the day went off without a hitch. The grounds are beautiful so we opted for our first look outside, as well as the cocktail hour, and we had our ceremony and reception inside. The open, industrial feel of the venue suited our personalities so well, and the surrounding town was amazing to explore during the weekend. Additionally, the outside grounds are lush and provide a great contrast to the industrial interior. If you're looking for a more modern wedding space that has tall ceilings, beautiful light, and exposed brick, this is the one for you.

We recently had our wedding at the Senate Garage and are thrilled with the experience that we had. The Senate Garage is not a cookie cutter venue, where your wedding will look the same as the person after yours, but truly a blank canvas where you can make your creative vision come to life. For anyone looking to exert a creative touch on your event, the Senate Garage has GREAT bones to work off of, with the benefit of being able to customize the space to your desires.

What differentiates the Senate Garage is being able to work with April. Spaces are ultimately just that, spaces, but you need people to make the vision come to life. April is accommodating, thoughtful, and willing to find solutions that appeal to all parties. We were consistently impressed with her ability to tackle situations with a proactive approach that netted positive outcomes. We are thankful to have gotten to work with her and have our special day at the Senate Garage.

I cannot recommend Senate Garage enough. After hours of searching for venues online, a quick google search from my now husband, landed us in Kingston, NY. We wanted a venue that could accommodate our guest size and budget that was unique. Senate Garage was PERFECT! It’s an industrial chic venue with a ton of interesting history. An old carriage house, turned car shop, turned venue, the owners and staff have made this a magical, sought-after wedding venue. I was lucky enough to meet the owner, Judy, back in December of 2019, as we started to plan our 2021 wedding. We booked almost immediately and met April, the venue manager. I immediately felt at ease as April made time for many calls and questions and helped me with all of the details. I ended up not even needing a planner because April was so helpful. At the time, the exclusive caterer that Senate Garage worked with was Bridge Creek Catering (you can now book others), but I am so glad we worked with BCC. April is very friendly with Jessica - the VP at BCC, which made the process so much easier. When the pandemic hit, these two didn’t miss a beat and helped me move our wedding an entire year and guarantee the space and reservations were intact (at no additional cost). They even helped me book rentals, and Senate Garage saved us tons of money on certain tables and chairs that the space owns.

Senate Garage is located in the Stockade District of Kingston. It’s picturesque, unique, and like no other wedding venue I’ve been to. Buses with our guests pulled right up to the side street to let our guests enter a magical garden courtyard, where our ceremony was held at 5:30 pm. Because the weather (though hot) was gorgeous, we were lucky enough to be able to host our cocktail hour outside. Then our guests were guided around the historic Senate House building (perfect for photos) and into this gorgeous space. Huge windows, string lights, low lighting, chic bar, and antique decor, this space was to DIE FOR. I absolutely loved every detail of the day and Senate Garage’s team made it come together beautifully. I even worked with a florist next door, Petalos, and because of everyone’s familiarity with each other, it made the day even more seamless. Thank you, April and team for making our day so magical!

Senate Garage was the perfect venue for our 10/12/24 wedding! My husband and I ended up booking sight unseen because we got engaged in November 2023 were looking for an upstate venue for October 2024. We were lucky Senate Garage had one weekend available and decided to snag immediately after seeing the beautiful pictures and talking to April and couldn't be happier we did. The grounds were unavailable for the ceremony due to another event earlier in the morning (likely why the weekend was still available), but we were able to use for photographs and the indoor ceremony turned out lovely. Kingston was the perfect base for all of our guests coming up from NYC and from out of town and we were all able to enjoy the perfect fall weather in an idyllic town. We did the catering package with Bridge Creek and April and Jessica took care of everything. We're very, very happy we chose Senate Garage!

We had our wedding at Senate Garage in June, and cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was from start to finish. The venue is beautiful and a wonderful backdrop to personalize the space, and the outdoor grounds offer a picturesque setting for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We ended up with so many beautiful spots for pictures between the indoor and outdoor spaces, along with the surrounding Kingston neighborhood. Beyond the venue itself, working with April was such a pleasure. She is so helpful connecting you with vendors, answering questions, and helping to bring your vision to life. She was available and responsive throughout our planning process and especially on our wedding day. We loved everything about our experience here!
