First and foremost, this building doesn't have an elevator and isn't handicapped accessible!! For elders that have walking equipment such as wheelchairs or rollaters, they only have access to an elevator in another building at the opposite end of the street. Secondly, the NYCHA Reps are rude, insensitive, unprofessional, uninformed, incompetent, lazy, and lack professional courtesy. I dread having to deal with the serious errors caused by staff members who lack training and intelligence to do their simple yet important jobs well. They wrongful terminated my father's, who's 79, a veteran, disabled, and elderly Section 8 without any notice or correspondence. I found out 7 months later. Then not one staff member over the phone, or in person (including when I esculated to a manager, could explain the contradiction of their faults and the misinformation left in their paper trail). They couldn't make it make sense. They take complete advantage of the elderly and venerable community. If I have to do their jobs for them, then I should get half of their checks that they don't deserve. I've never had a smooth experience here and often find myself trying to hold my composure towards ingnorant NYCHA reps that feel superior towards the very same people that they live amongst. Not every case or visit is the same and having the training to understand that can resolved some of the turmoil between the reps that arises at the case windows in this NYCHA building. I'm unimpressed and if it wasn't for my father (and the wrong done to him that I had to check, rectify, and get an resolution for), I would never step a foot here, like ever! The entire staff needs professional and HR training to straighten up or quit their civil service job and work somewhere else.

This is the next agency that needs mass firing! My uncle died 30 years ago & he has section 8!! This whole Fordham office is unprofessional, the phones are never answered and the website is garbage!! This section 8 should’ve been more carefully planned & its selection process as well. And you need an “education” to work here. Pure politics, pure fraud.

The "Walk-in Center" doesn't actually take walk-ins (unless you're over 65). You have to make an appointment. Appointments are backed up, so don't expect to come in for a month. Calling the phone number takes forever and all the phone operators are rude and can't actually help you. All they can do is leave a note on your case.

I got a notice they need more information or my application will be withdrawn. The website doesn’t work is says error message and when you call you get high volume of calls and call back. I am disabled and unemployed. I am getting ready to contact my attorney and also the Governors office and file a complaint

Section 8 in the Bronx is horrible, when documents are given are lost, have to go several times to straighten out, about phone service is agonizing takes over an hour to get a response, employees there do a horrible job

I didn't like that they kept the same covid rules but now I see why it's way more organized an you're in an out done with what ever it is that's needed to be done at that time an the workers are more pleasant

The bronx is one of the worst offices to go to the supervisor and the workers are rude, disrespectful and unprofessional they will even prevent you from retaining housing oh let me not forget the security guard who don't know how to defuse a situation he believes yelling and screaming are his only way to calm a situation
