Our Soldotna neighborhood experienced an outage in Spring of 2022, which was determined to be an underground fault. A temporary line was strung through the trees and bushes, with the promise to bury once the ground thawed. In October 2023 utility companies marked their lines so that GCI could bury the cable. In Spring of 2024 local road crews using mowing equipment caused several outages by cutting through the temporary cable, which is still strung through the bushes.
Update: Repeated exchanges with Customer Service who have been promising that it will be done by September, but today is October 1st

Yukon TV stinks!!! The DVR does not work. See picture of error code that is a constant problem. Extremely long waits online and on the phone to speak to a tech and then the service is still down 2 weeks later. I am also due a refund for overpayment but didn't get. I suggest folks look around for better service.

Good on some things, but three dislikes.

1. You can NOT call the local store of GCI directly to ask simple things, such as if they have particular phones in stock. Unsettling that a phone company store cannot be called. It’s their main thing, Right So strange & annoying.
2. They raised the price of their lowest tier internet service, so that ACP customers have a bill. It’s supposed to be a program for low income people WITHOUT having a difficult money barrier for them. They should change that.
3. They used to apply to money paid for a lifeline phone to the phone bill of the lifeline customer. That was a HUGE incentive to upgrade phones. They should revert that policy back to what it was. I’m sure the FCC would not have a problem with them doing so.

Horrible service. Moved their call centers to some other country. Can't get a tech to come out to my place. Been paying for GCI 1GB Red, I've been getting 10-30% of my paid for service for a few weeks now. Haven't been able to get a tech out to my house.

Started out great with fantastic costumer service. All came to an end after being a costumer for 4 weeks. The rep at the store treated me like i was incompetent.
My internet doesn’t work properly so i contacted IT. Again very rude costumer service and nobody can help.

When I called it took forever to get someone to talk to about getting Internet where I live then I was put on hold again and told give me a few minutes to check it out and on hold again forever then they said they have to do more checking and someone will call me back shortly and let me know that was two weeks ago and no one has called me and I'm not going to call them ever again
