It's amazing to me that the US Air Force can take a 1970s dorm room and turn it into a lacklustre hotel and still charged the same prices as the economy prices during Peak tourist season. The quality the furnishings are lackluster and minimal at best. It's crazy to me that the Air Force still requires us to stay here when we could get 10 times the quality for half the price in the local area. Still the check in and out process was smooth and the front desk staff were really nice. If traveling for personal reasons, I'd recommend staying off base if possible.
The rooms are clean though so no concerns about the housekeeping.
Provided toiletries are as cheap as they come.
It is close to the base gym (4-5 minutes by car) but nothing else.
I know the AF has little to no money for renovation of a hotel at baseline. I can only hope that the price they charge is resulting in money being saved for future renovation.

Was $175 for a room I would spend $80 on, crazy how much our unit had to pay for such lackluster, dated accomodations. If I was only rating it against other military lodging, it wasn't so bad, but for the price, you can do much better

My partner and I stayed at the Sarnoski Court TLF. There's a separate review page for it, just called TLF. It is a nice place with dated but decent amenities. Honestly nicer than expected.

The people at the front desk provided a map of the area and a list of restaurants and dining facilities.

4 stars because things could be improved still. A/C was unavailable but we were lucky to be staying during the beginning of the summer season. I cannot imagine how miserable it could be it if were freezing or sweltering, especially if you've got kids and/or pets.

Rooms are good sized because you are basically getting two rooms that would normally share a bathroom. So you end up with two of everything. But one queen bed and a Murphy sofa in the other which is like a living room. It’s a little dated but passable. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hot water takes awhile to heat up and sometimes disappears during a shower. It’s pretty noisy due to all the aircraft but i got used to it. I gave it 3 stars because of price verse quality.

We’ve been paying $200-$300 a night for hotels in Anchorage so we finally decided to try this one on base and it was worth it. We paid $160 a night and it was really nice. The housekeepers came by everyday to give us fresh towels and supplies. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only problem I saw was a red stain on my sheets but other than that everything else was clean.

We used JBER Air Force Lodging as our home base while traveling throughout south- central Alaska. Rooms were clean, wifi was consistent and reasonably fast, and beds were pretty comfortable. For $60 a night, we were pleased. We stayed on the Fort Richardson side and the Airmen working in customer service had no idea how these rooms were appointed. I received conflicting information about how many beds, whether or not roll-away beds are available (they are!) and what time check in was. My room reservations on email clearly say check in begins at 2 p.m. However, when we tried to check in at 3 p.m. they said our rooms weren't ready. This happened twice. Each time we had to wait until after 4 p.m. Their excuse was that check in is between 2 and 6 pm. Huh?!? It wasted our group's time and contradicted what the reservation information said (which is what we based our planning on). ||||Bottom line though, the lodging on JBER is decent for the price. It's generally clean and reasonably appointed in the rooms. No breakfast or other amenities, however. So with some expectation management, this can be a good place to stay for short stints or as a home base while exploring around south-central Alaska.

Definitely not clean. I understand it is fall and critters are coming in to stay warm, but I found a rat in my room. I called the front desk and was moved to a second floor. A few days later, I found beetles in my bed. The noise from the airfield isn't too bad, but still enough to notice. The shower heads are pretty low, but whatever.

The room was clean and comfortable and came with a dbl bed, fold out couch, tv, large refrig, single serve coffee maker and microwave. Housekeeping was very good and courteous and willingly provided us some extra towels and coffee pods. We stayed in Akutan Hall for VP, but there is also a DV available for 0-6 and above. The base itself is huge, but has a good size commissary and exchange, a couple of gas stations/mini-exchanges. There are three different gates that I'm aware of and have various entrance and exit times. ||If you like to wake up to jet noise in the morning, though we never heard it in our room, this is the place to stay.
