This review is specifically about the Shadow-Soft Academy Internship program.

They don't say this on any of the job descriptions or the website, but the internship is unpaid. I figured I would save some of my fellow CS students from wasting their time.

And for the Shadow-Soft rep who's going to read this, experience and "leverage" isn't going to pay bills. If you're going to take 20+ hours from someone's week, especially working in something as lucrative as software engineering/development, you need to pay them. Anything less is just exploitation.

I won't recommend anyone to work at this place because the company showed their true colors when I asked 2 questions about using linux and the guy said that I didn't have enough experience in Linux. First of all, changing permissions was not part of the instructions, second of all, it's been a year since I took operating systems and my teacher never taught me about sudo. And the second time wasn't even a question. I simply said that I use chmod to change permissions rather than sudo, and if you're employees bully people like this, you will definitely scare away future candidates. You can thank Tyler Shackleford for putting a bad image of the company. Response to Owner: you expect way too much for UNPAID INTERNSHIP!!! MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK UP WHAT UNPAID INTERNSHIP MEANS!!! And the fact that I didn't even send a resume to you because I don't even know who Tyler is. Ambushing me on whether or not I know Linux is unacceptable.
