Beware of Attorney Jacoby Perez – Unethical and Negligent

I hired Jacoby Perez in December to represent me as a defendant in my case, trusting him to file a motion to expunge a lis pendens so I could refinance my property. He was responsive at first, but after withdrawing my entire $10,000 retainer, he stopped communicating and showed no interest in my case.

He failed to meet court deadlines, filed a response without my consent, and falsely stated that I was unavailable when I was always reachable. Even worse, I later discovered that he was representing the opposing party, in another lawsuit a clear conflict of interest, which he denied when confronted.

He also lied about filing a motion to expunge the lis pendens, which was never filed or scheduled. After months of broken promises, he instead filed a motion to withdraw from my case without informing me. His misconduct has cost me over $40,000 due to unnecessary delays.

I am filing a complaint with the State Bar of California for his conflict of interest, lack of communication, failure to meet deadlines, and dishonesty. If you are considering hiring him, beware—he cannot be trusted.
