Came for lunch to this cool, cozy Mexican restaurant. "Lar" meaning "Hearth" of the medieval era, hence the facade of the building and ambiance of the space. Cool bar in the front, and wooden features throughout to give a historic vibe. Menu selection is decent, food is okay, didn't see anything that set this place apart from others (perhaps I missed it). Parking can be a little tough as there is street parking but fairly limited. Staff was amicable and quick to serve.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants.
The staff has been there since my 1st visit years ago. The food keeps it's Quality. I have had chicken Mole, Asada Plate and always has been good. This time I had Señor Parras Special.
Beans were delicious and scrambled eggs had great taste.
The Top sirloin was a bit plane. Needed a little bit of salt but overall good

Sunday night dinner was soo very good! My Chile relleno was perfect! My friend really enjoyed his steak fajita. The tres leches and refreshing margaritas completed a wonderful experience! (P S Also loved the lights and artwork, made for a really fun ambiance)

The carnitas plate (pictured) was very traditional and very
tasty .My only complaint was the price of my Michelada: $12.50 seems pricey for a Modelo beer and tomato juice! Especially when the carnitas entree itself was just $18.

Oh my god, where to start? This place is my new favourite place to eat delicious Mexican food. The ambiance was very relaxing considering the mariachi band that arrived halfway through our experience taking it to a whole new level. The servers were very nice and talkative. The delectable food also took a surprisingly short amount of time to arrive to our table considering the amount of people present at the establishment. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area. This place is a force in the food game and I was surprised by how little people were found in the restaurant given that this place was an 11/10, it gets 5/5 on the boom meter for sure.

AUTHENTIC LA MEXICAN!
If you want a real experience of LA Mexican this is the spot. I avoid falling into the trap of going to places rated by tourists who have said somewhere is 'the best in the city' when that person has clearly not walked further than 50 metres from their touristville hotel. THIS IS NOT THAT PLACE, full of locals with amazing margaritas & a generous menu! Pick ANYTHING and you'll be happy - the cerviche is top tier, the tamales beautiful and the carnitas defo worth a try.

Randomly picked this placed for an impromptu celebratory lunch. Small interior dining area with a patio out back. Inside was packed, so we were on the patio. Had the Chile verde plate. Mild, light, and still delicious. Also had a Cadillac margarita that was very tasty. Staff was awesome. *Update: Food continues to impress, and service is excellent.
