A great place to visit, whether you are a mason or not! An amazing landmark, with tons of great history, and an amazing collection of museum quality materials to see. Everything from an enormous Masonic penny collection to a portrait gallery of famous masons.
And the LIBRARY. My gosh, just go for the library alone! It's amazing!

Claire gave my husband (a Mason) and I (serious appreciator of history) a wonderfully thorough tour of the Temple. She answered all our questions to the best of her ability. The tour is amazing. I’m in awe of all artifacts they have and share with the public. The Pike exhibit is not to miss. My next favorite is the library. If you’ve not been here and have seen the Washington Masonic Memorial you must also visit this place as well.

This building is magnificent, absolutely stunning inside and out. A great free tour for anyone, I highly recommend you see it for yourself. Even if you are not affiliated with the Freemason's the history of the building and grandeur can't be beat. I was so surprised to learn so much about the building, what it holds and the people who have shaped it's history. Please, please, please don't pass this place by or take it for granted it's amazing to see in person. They do ask for no video taping inside but you are free to take pictures. I couldn't get enough of this place.

Amazing place to visit. Add this place to your list of places to visit in DC. So much history and so many artifacts in this building. Not just about Scottish Rite but of the US as well. The tour guide, Lily, was knowledgeable about every room and almost every artifact. Whether or not you are a Mason or a Scottish Rite member you will learn something and see some one of a kind architecture!
