Principled Thoughts

I went to Dru for a silk press and got my hair (my leave out) burned to a crisp. Had to chop off 2 inches when I got home.

Second, there is zero silk in the job Dru did. To be fair, the tracks I have installed are on their last leg of life, but I've had two prior silk presses on this hair at another salon, the most recent one was 5 weeks ago and the hair came out super silky and beautiful. It took me getting home and really inspecting to see just how awful my hair still looks.

I understand that she put the time in detangling my hair, but:

1) I was under the dryer for 2 of the 4 hours I was in there, and 2) I was expecting a SILK PRESS and did NOT get one. I can't help but feel duped out of 120 dollars, and my scalp is still dirty. Was not scrubbed at all. It's ok to tell a client that you just can't do something, or that their hair isn't in suitable condition for ABC, rather than send them home burnt crispy.

Update: Dru sent me a text message cussing me out for leaving my honest review of her abysmal "work". Be sure to block her number if you have a similar experience and choose to leave a review.

I had an awesome hair experience with Tonette. I had my hair colored and trimmed. I have never seen a salon so clean. They constantly wipe, mop, sweep and dissenfect every thing. Everyone is so friendly. It was my first time but NOT my last! I will not go anywhere else. I found my place. Thank you Tonette for taking such good care of me.

If you are looking into getting your hair braided look no further Shenay is your girl!! Her work is efficient, her prices are reasonable, and her finished product is always on point. I get tons of compliments from friends, family members, and coworkers when I get my hair done by her. Trust me you won’t be disappointed:)

First I call and take an appointment for me and my daughter and then she said she cannot do it. She canceled it. She told me to come back tomorrow when I go back the next day she refused to do my hair and my daughter hair because she said her hair and my hair is really thick, My Daughter she’s really sad and I’m really upset. Also, I go from downtown to Lamesa and she doesn’t even apologize. I hope she doesn’t do that to somebody else.

Drew did my natural hair and my curls are now bone straight after washing my hair thoroughly. I have to start my natural hair journey over and would not recommend her for anyone with natural hair.

I'm a month late with this review but better late than never. My 4 year old daughter and I came to get our hair braided by Shenay and she was beyond amazing. I asked her to freestyle braid my daughter's hair and she came up with the cutest style and even added beads. I got medium box braids and I absolutely love them. She takes her time, is very detailed and is so clean with her braiding skills. Her prices are beyond reasonable too. Unfortunately we moved outta state but we would've definitely came back again and again. Thank you Shenay!!!!

Brought my 4yr old daughter here for her first ever trim and second time getting true braids. Dee did the trim and made her feel comfortable. She gave me tips on how to care for my daughter's hair as we have different types of hair and helped me correct some wrongs I've made. Although the salon was busy she was super quick! (Tip: bring cash - she only accepts cash at this time)

Right after the trim my daughter sat down with Shenay to get her braids done for the 2nd time. This time my daughter was requesting colors added and Shenay was able to provide! My daughter had been sitting awhile, is newly 4 years old (plus only had done this once before) and she was a wiggle worm but Shenay was patient with her and did an amazing job once again! 👏 I will continue to bring her here and keep learning from these wonderful women!
